About Us


We are James & Ash Goff and we own and run James Goff Photography. We’re a small, boutique, Newcastle based photography business that specialises in weddings. We photograph people who are in love… and we love it! There’s something really exciting about capturing the moments of a wedding day as it unfolds.

Our main aim is to capture natural, real moments and emotions as they unfold (just a quick look at our work will show you what we mean). We just want you to be you! Enjoy your day; be in love… we’ll make sure it all gets captured on the camera.

We photograph weddings in Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, and the Central Coast but we also love to travel for weddings too, so please contact us even if your wedding isn’t local.

Q: What are your packages and prices?

A: Our wedding packages and prices are really simple. Our prices start at $2,990. Just send us a quick message via the contact form and we’ll email you a PDF with a full rundown of our packages and prices. Our engagement/couples shoots are $750.


Q: How many hours of coverage will we get with your wedding packages?

A: All our packages start at 8hrs coverage. This is usually mroe than enough to capture your whole day. If you think you'll need another hour or more, you can always add them later if needed.


Q: How do we secure you as our photographer for our wedding day?

A: Firstly, we’ll arrange to meet up with you to chat through your wedding details. After we meet up, we require a 40% deposit to secure your wedding date in our calendar.


Q: What copyrights do we have regarding our wedding images?

A: While we retain copyright to all the images, we grant all our couples a personal, limited license that allows you to make your own prints, digital copies and to post copyright versions of your wedding photos on social media… basically everything you’d possibly want to do with your photos.


Q: We’ve noticed that you shoot a lot of candid photos at your weddings… do you take any formal photos of family and friends?

A: Of course! We try to shoot candid photos as much as possible because this yields the most natural results but we will also take a number of organised/staged photos of you with your family and friends.


Q: Do you travel out of town to shoot weddings?

A: Absolutely! We love photographing weddings in different places. At no extra cost to you, we travel to all areas of Newcastle, Central Coast, and The Hunter Valley. Beyond those areas, we charge a small fee to cover simple accommodation and travel expenses.


Q: Do you do engagement photo shoots?

A: We certainly do, and we love doing them! Engagement shoots are included for free with some of our wedding packages… but if you’re just looking for a couples session, they’re $750.


Q: How many images will we get after our wedding?

A: We average approx. 500 images. Although this generally depending on the length of your wedding day. We'll then duplicate all your photos and deliver a colour and b/w version of every image (approx. 1000 images all up).


Q: When will our digital images and printed album be ready?

A: We will have all digital images available in around 4-8 weeks (usually around 4 weeks or less), then your printed album will be ready approx. 2 weeks after you’ve selected the photos to be included in the album.
